The story of the “Percy Special” traces its way back to the Duke of Northumberland. The “Percy” line is deeply ingrained in England’s long history of nobility. The family goes back to one William de Percy, who joined in the Norman conquest in the 11th century and the family has been the noble keeper of Northumberland since at least the 1300s.
